Golfing in and Around Wintergreen
Wintergreen is one of the nation's premier year-round golf facilities. The Devils Knob course is the highest course in Virginia at 3,850 feet and is known for cool summer temperatures. The nationally-ranked, year-round Stoney Creek course offers 27 holes designed by the "U.S. Open Doctor" Rees Jones.

The Devils Knob course sits at an elevation of over 3,800 feet. Players leave Devils Knob golf course remembering narrow fairways, consistently excellent turf conditions and unsurpassed vistas. Typically 12-18 degrees cooler even than its sister golf course in the valley below, the Devils Knob course provides Virginia's coolest summer playing conditions and a spectacular mountain foliage backdrop throughout the fall.
Stoney Creek -- 27 holes designed by Rees Jones
Conde Nast Traveler magazine selected Wintergreen as one of the "Top 50 Golf Resorts in the World," based largely on the Stoney Creek course. When he finished the course, the "Open Doctor" Rees Jones remarked, "I think what Stoney Creek is to me, is one of the great settings in mountain golf.' Stoney Creek is one of the most beloved tests of golf in the mid-Atlantic. Jones brought the natural elements of the landscape into play: meandering streams, hardwood forests and pristine wetlands, and combined these with elevation changes, contoured greens and the occasional side hill lie.
Wintergreen also offers the Wintergreen Golf Academy where you can benefit from the power of the Model Golf system. As seen in Golf, Golf Digest and every major web-based golf site, the Model Golf method will help you build consistency with every aspect of your game: from set-up to finish, from wedge to driver.
